The first verse in the Bible tells us that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. But sadly, many people believe that science has proved the Bible wrong for all of human history. Scientists believe the universe was eternal, that it had no beginning. But thanks to scientists like Hubble and Einstein, we now know that the universe is not infinite and eternal, but that both space and time had a beginning.
Genesis one one had it right through 400 years before brilliant scientists figured it out. It’s important that we don’t dismiss the Book of Genesis based on the flawed assumption that science is somehow proved the Bible wrong.
As Christians, we should seek to truly understand exactly what’s been communicated in Genesis, because if we can’t get a person beyond Genesis one one, how will we ever get them to John 316?
